Golf best bets: 3 props for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson

The PGA Tour rolls on to Texas this week for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. Jordan Spieth, a Dallas native who finished runner-up to K.H. Lee in his last start at this golf course, is the betting favorite at +1400 to win the tournament, but we're looking further down the board for our golf bets this week.

Here are our three favorite props for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson

Adam Scott top-10 finish (+275 DraftKings)

Adam Scott has been a model of consistency for the last six months. Over his last 11 worldwide starts dating back to November, the Australian has nine top-22 finishes and five top-10s. Scott's statistical profile is a sea of green this season, as he ranks 15th on the PGA Tour in total driving, 16th in strokes gained from putting and 26th in total strokes gained. He also ranks second in approaches from 175-200 yards, which will be a key distance this week on a long golf course.

Scott has been great in big-time events in 2024, and this is the weakest field he's been a part of all year.

Seamus Power top-20 finish (+250 FanDuel)

Seamus Power was understandably rusty to start the season after he missed the last four months of 2023 with a hip injury, but he's starting to feel confident in his swing again. The Irishman has three top-26 finishes in his last three starts, and he's coming off his best finish of the season at the RBC Heritage (T12) in which he ranked 10th in the field in strokes gained on approach.

This is a perfect venue for Power to keep the momentum rolling, too, as he's finished T9, T17 and T19 in three starts at TPC Craig Ranch. He ranks 10th in the field in Data Golf's course history tool

Tournament matchup: Alex Noren > Si Woo Kim (+105 DK)

Alex Noren is sneakily one of the hottest players on the PGA Tour. The 41-year-old has five straight top-23 finishes, and he lost strokes in one of the four major categories only once in that span. He's impressively gained strokes off the tee, on approach and around the green in three straight measured starts. Noren has also finished T21 and T12 in two starts at TPC Craig Ranch.

Si Woo Kim is a scary player to fade because he finished runner-up at the Byron Nelson last season, but he missed the cut in 2022 and finished T55 in 2021. We don't think Noren should be this big of an underdog in this matchup.
